Kai Cenat, a famous social media personality from New York who built his career through livestreaming on Twitch, claims he has fallen victim to yet another swatting scheme.

He posted a photo of the police in his mansion on

In the comments section of that post, one of his followers posted what appeared to be Kai on a livestream, reacting to news that a A helicopter circled his house.

FOX 5 Atlanta has reached out to local officials to independently verify his claim and is still waiting for a response. However, this wouldn’t be the first time the 22-year-old multi-millionaire has been the target of whacking.

In November 2022, Kai was also streaming when he received a phone call that immediately made him stand up and say, “Emergency. Emergency. Be right back.”

When he returned to his computer, he seemed distraught.

“Six o’clock in the morning is crazy, bro. Yeah, beaten, bro,” he said, replying to his subscribers who communicated with him via a live chat. “I appreciate them being as calm as possible mate, but 6am is (sic) crazy. You all got it, buddy. You all won, buddy.”

What is a swatting call?

Swatting is a type of prank in which someone falsely reports a serious emergency, such as a bomb threat, murder, or hostage situation, and sends law enforcement or emergency services, especially a SWAT team, to a specific address. This is done to offend or harm the person at the specified address, who is unaware of the false report.

It is extremely dangerous and can lead to property damage, injury or even death, and waste of police resources.

Georgia Swatting Act

On July 1, 2024, Georgia Senate Bill 421 went into effect, increasing penalties for perpetrators of swatting calls and false alarms in the Peach State.

It is a legal requirement in the state of Georgia that the person behind a swatting call must pay for the damages caused by their actions.

In Kai’s 2024 Marietta case, he claimed that Twitch banned his account in the middle of his stream.

About 14 minutes later, he posted again inviting his fans to return and saying he had been “unbanned.” It’s not clear how much money he makes per livestream or how much he might have lost during the time he was offline.

The new law also makes first offenses punishable if they target a home or place of worship. The measure also increased the felony penalty for second offenses, making the minimum prison sentence five years instead of one year. It also added harsher penalties for a third offense, which required a prison sentence of 10 to 15 years.
