The road outside the Manx National Sports center has been closed for three months

The work, which will include excavation and resurfacing carried out by Paul Carey and Sons, will start on Thursday and will last until the end of January.

The project also includes the addition of more accessible bus edges and renovation of the intersection.

The Ministry of Infrastructure said vehicular access to all businesses in the area will be maintained, but there will be some diversions to bus routes serving the south of the island.

For bus services from the island’s capital to Port Erin, there are alternative stops at Douglas Golf Club and at the Springfield Avenue junction, with routes diverted to Alder Road, Springfield Road and onto Old Castletown Road.

From Port Erin to Douglas, services have been diverted via Quarterbridge and Peel Road, with alternative stops at Harcroft Meadows and Peel Road.
