A new procedure could provide cheaper screening for esophageal cancer

We rely on our esophagus to swallow approximately 585 times a day. For many, heartburn, acid reflux, or even chronic acid reflux called GERD can hinder and irritate the process.

For some, this chronic condition can also be a symptom of esophageal or gastrointestinal cancer – and screening for this remains a challenge for doctors.
