Eva Longoria reveals she’s been living outside the ‘dystopian’ US

Eva Longoria reveals why she and her family planted their roots outside the United States.

The Flamin’ Hot director, 49, has been living between Spain and Mexico for a few years with her husband José Bastón and their 6-year-old son Santiago, she shared a cover story for from Marie Claire “Age problem.”

Longoria – who is working on the second version of her CNN miniseries, Looking for Spain, after 2023 Looking for Mexico – tells the outlet that despite spending her “entire adult life” in Los Angeles, she noticed the city “changing.”

The Texas native is known for being an outspoken activist and for rallying women and Latinos to vote Texas Tribune. “We shouted from the highest rooftops that the Latino vote is not something to be taken for granted,” she said Marie Claire. “You have to earn it and win it every election cycle.”

About Trump, Longoria told the newspaper: “The shocking thing is not that he won, but that a convicted criminal who radiates so much hatred could hold the highest office.”

She adds, “I would like our fight to continue,” but she also acknowledges her concerns about another four years with Trump as president. “If he keeps his promises,” she says, “(America) is going to be a scary place.”

In addition to her political activism, Longoria talks in the cover story about charting her own path in the entertainment industry – including with her Oscar-nominated film Flaming hot, which she directed – and in encouraging other women to get behind the camera and assert control over their careers.

“Our industry is known for failing men in particular. It’s like, ‘He got that movie? Didn’t he… The last movie, he…? Didn’t he bomb that one?
